Known-Item Searching in the CSUB Catalog

Known item searching means looking for things that you know, such a specific title, author or call number.  These are the steps for locating a known item:

1. Go to the Library Homepage -http://www.csub.edu/library/

2. Beneath Library Resources at the center of the page, select CSUB Library Catalog.

3. Select Author/Title search

4. Select the field you want to search (author, title, etc.)

5. For titles, leave off the first article (the, a, an) and type words exactly as they appear. You normally only have to type in the first few words.

6. For authors, type last name then first name.
