Abbas P. Grammy holds a doctoral degree from the University of Colorado, Boulder and is Professor of Economics at California State University, Bakersfield. He is the recipient of Millie Ablin Outstanding Professor Award for 2005-06.

 Abbas is the Publisher and Managing Editor of Kern Economic Journal and the Editor of Tulare County Economic Journal.  These quarterly publications were recognized by California Association for Local Economic Development with an Economic Development Promotion Award of Merit. Abbas is also the co-organizer of Kern County Economic Summit, an annual conference on local and regional economic development. 

 Abbas has conducted research and evaluation for public organizations and private enterprises in California including the Great Valley Center, Central California Futures Institute, California Department of Social Services, Great Valley Center, California State University-Bakersfield, Bakersfield Association of Retarded Citizens, and Tejon Ranch Company.
