Quick refresher on training types

I've posted the training dates and times for the foreseeable future on the right-hand side of csub.edu/web. As I was putting all of this together, I thought it might be wise to post a quick reminder about the three types of training available. Please note, the nature of advanced training has changed since it was initially announced.

Initial Training

This is an opportunity for anyone who has never been trained to use the WCMS or anyone who wants a refresher on the basics. Topics covered include login to WCMS, page types, create pages, edit content on pages, upload images, upload documents, create hyperlinks, save and publish pages, modify page specific items, reporting issues and logout of the system.

Advanced Training

This is an opportunity for those of you who would like to continue to add to your WCMS skills and improve your content. Sessions are held quarterly and cover a variety of topics including how to create new sections, new pages, forms, embed videos, create tables, use anchors, overwrite images or documents, modify the page title, and how to request the addition of specific features (DISQUS commenting option, site-specific navigation, etc.). We'll also spend time on a specific topic that will rotate quarterly based on need (HTML coding, impact of template changes, etc.).

Open Lab

This is an opportunity for you to work on your content with help from other web liaisons and myself. It's simply an informal, dedicated time where you can work on your content, ask questions, get updates and more.

Please let me know if you have any questions or have suggestions for additional training options you'd like to see.
