How To Change The Screen Saver Timer Settings On Your Phone

Use the following procedure to configure the screen saver timer using the IP Phone UI. 
 

  1. Press  to enter the Options list.
  2. Navigate  to the Display option and Select it.
  3. Press  Down on the navigation button to highlight the Screen Saver Timer setting.
  4. Using the keypad, enter in the desired amount of time (in seconds) the phone must be idle
    before the screen saver is initiated. The range is 0 (screensaver disabled) to 7200 seconds
    (with a default of 1800 seconds).
  5. Press the Save softkey to save your changes.

The amount of time the phone must be idle before the screen saver initiates is configurable through the phone's UI or by defining the "screen save time" parameter in the configuration files.

How To Lock/Unlock Your Phone

Use the following IP Phone UI procedure to lock/unlock an IP phone and prevent it from being used or configured

For the 6867i phone type:

Lock the phone:

  1. Press settings buttonon the phone to enter the Options List.
  2. Select Lock > Phone Lock.
  3. The prompt, “Lock the phone?” displays.
  4. Select Yes to lock the phone

Unlock the phone:

  1. Press Menu buttonon the phone to enter the Options List.
  2. An “Enter Unlock Password” prompt displays.
  3. Enter the user or administrator password and press Enter.
  4. A prompt “Unlock the Phone?” displays.
  5. Select Yes to unlock the phone.

For the 6863i phone type:

Lock the phone:

  1. Press Menu Buttonon the phone to enter the Options List.
  2. Select Phone Lock.
  3. The prompt, “Lock the phone?” displays.
  4. Press Lock to lock the phone.

Unlock the phone:

  1. Press Menu Buttonon the phone to enter the Options List.
  2. The prompt, “To unlock the phone...Password:”
  3. Enter the user or administrator password and press Enter.
  4. The phone unlocks

How To Restart Your Phone

For the 6867i phone type:

  1. Press Menu Buttonon the phone to enter the Options List.
  2. Select Restart The prompt, “Restart phone?” displays.
  3. Select Yes to lock the phone.

For the 6863i phone type:

  1. Press Menu Buttonon the phone to enter the Options List.
  2. Select Restart.
  3. The prompt, “Restart phone?” displays.
  4. Select Yes to lock the phone.

How To Find The IP Address On Your VoIP Phone

For the 6867i phone type:

  1. Press Menu Buttonon the phone to enter the Options List.
  2. Select Status
  3. Navigate Directional pad to the “Network” display.
  4. Write down the IP Address for support (e.g., 111.222.333.444)
  5. Select Cancel when done.

For the 6863i phone type:

  1. Press Menu Buttonon the phone to enter the Options List.
  2. Select 4 Phone Status.
  3. Navigate Directional padDown to 1 IP & MAC Address.
  4. Write down the IP Address for support (e.g., 111.222.333.444).

How To Set/Reset The Phone Password

Use the following IP Phone UI procedure to Set/Reset an IP phone and prevent it from being used or configured.


For the 6867i phone type:

  1. Press Menu button on the phone to enter the Options List.
  2. Select Lock > Password.
  3. Enter the current password in the <Current Password> field. (Default password is "0000”)
  4. Press the down navigation key navigation key  and enter the new password in the <New Password> field.
  5. Press the down navigation key navigation key and enter the new password again in the <Re-enter Password>
    field.
  6. Press the Save softkey.
  7. A message, "Password Changed" displays on the screen.

For the 6863i phone type:

  1. Press Menu button on the phone to enter the Options List.
  2. Select User Password
  3. Enter the current user password. (Default password is "0000")
  4. Press Enter.
  5. Enter the new user password.
  6. Press Enter.
  7. Re-enter the new user password.
  8. Press Enter.
  9. A message, "Password Changed" displays on the screen.
