An Articulation Agreement is a contract between institutions whereby transfer coursework will be accepted.  It is important to note that articulated courses are not to be construed as equivalent but rather as comparable to, or acceptable in lieu of, each other.

CSU Bakersfield participates in ASSIST (Articulation System Stimulating Interinstitutional Student Transfer) systems.

ASSIST is California's official statewide repository of transfer information, offering easy access to a single database. Students planning to transfer from a community college to CSU Bakersfield can access the ASSIST database to help them determine if credit will be awarded for courses already taken and how those courses will apply to specific academic goals.  Articulation agreement information is available on the ASSIST web page at www.assist.org.  Click on “Start Assist” and select California State University, Bakersfield.  You may then select a second participating college or university.
