Concerned about students who don't complete reading assignments before they come to class?
One way to encourage them to do these assignments is to assign a Reading Response Sheet.
Amy Oden (Oklahoma City University; aoden@okcu.edu) recently described her Reading Response Sheet on a faculty development listserv. She requires students to send their responses to her via email by 9:00 the night before class, and she uses them to plan class time. She reports that students are much better prepared for class and more self-conscious about their learning.
