Full-time faculty/ instructors may apply for
Writing and Student Learning Outcomes Grant (WSLO) aimed
at the evaluation writing skills and activities in a
single course. These grants involve the alignment of a
course assignment/ activity with this single course goal
of improving writing skills. These grants involve the
revise of a course based on the alignment between this
single writing goal and student learning outcomes. The
grant has two parts: the proposal and the assessment
report.
This grant is for the amount of $150 for a single course
assessment. Each quarter a different course may be
selected for a total of three grants in a single
academic year.
Application of Assessment to what you already assign to
your students in a course for writing activities
The proposal describes the course writing goals
that will be assessed in the project. The project
identifies an appropriate assessment tool that will
measure the course writing outcomes.

Essay question
Research paper
Lab report
Oral Presentation
Group project
Assessment Report describes the assessment instrument
and samples of student work from the course. The Report
also discusses what you learned from the assessment and
changes you will make in your course. As with all
Faculty TLC Grants, future funding will depend in part
on the timely participation in Faculty TLC activities
(discussion forums, workshops or mentoring partnerships)
and submission of a written report of the faculty
members activities.
All full-time lecturers and tenure-track faculty
may submit proposals for Teaching Innovation Grants. For a proposal to be considered, all applicants must have submitted their FINAL GRANT REPORTS for all previous awards.
