The TLC invites you to celebrate the scholarly activities of CSUB faculty. Come join in the conversations with your colleagues. Finger food, wine and soft drinks will be served. This event will be in the Faculty TLC workshop area.

Throughout the 2006-07 year, faculty members have participated in numerous local, national and international research activities. For each conversation, several faculty members will present a short summary of their scholarship. These summarizes will be followed by an informal question and answer exchange with the different faculty.

Web Content Management

Join Information Technology Services on Wednesday, May 2 in the Faculty Teaching and Learning Center for a live vendor demonstration of a Web Content Management Software Program.

Web Masters and others who are responsible for updating and/or creating Web pages will be interested in this presentation. We are actively seeking end user input as we evaluate the product for possible purchase. This demonstration is from a second vendor. Please consider attending the demonstration and help us choose the best product.

April 17 3:30pm - 5:00pm Rubric Revision

This is an interactive workshop in which instructors examine and edit one of their grading rubrics given guidelines of rubric design. This revision clarifies the criteria you will use for grading assignments, provides students with more informative feedback and reduces the amount of time you spend evaluating student work. Bring your current rubric and leave with a new “improved” one!

How do the best teachers help and encourage their students to achieve such remarkable learning results? We will explore the research on human learning and the results of a fifteen-year study of best teachers to examine how to create those natural critical learning environment that students will find most captivating.
