BARNGA: A cross-cultural communication simulation
with Jane Evarian.
Barnga is an interactive game designed to place participants in situations where basic communication is tested using playing cards. Different "cultures" are formed and participants move from culture to culture during the game while experiencing some discomfort based on differences in cultural values, beliefs and behaviors. The game is useful for class sessions focused on cultural diversity and intercultural communication issues and provides players the opportunity to actively explore cultural diversity in a safe non-threatening environment.
This is a great opportunity to help us accomplish the goal of getting students to become aware and appreciate diverse points of view.
Please RSVP to me if you can attend so that we can get a head count.
