FAQ

  1. "Why does my computer get really hot?

    NO WEB LINK
  2. Problem: Beware the soft surface and the laptop. If the user places their laptop on a soft surface ( bedspread for an example) the cooling ports will be obstructed and the computer will overheat.) Solution: Don't place on cloth/soft surfaces. If the computer overheats move to a cooler place--shut down? I don't know because that turns fan off. Any suggestion?

  3. "Where can I connect to the internet with my wireless computer?

    No Web Link
  4. At CSUB there are three main locations:

    (1) OASIS--anywhere arount the TV office. The QUAD on nice days is a great place to connect and simultaniously enjoy the outside world.

    (2) CSUN LIbrary--most places work but some corners and some random locations don't seem to get a good signal. Just move aroud until you find a location that works. The study room in the basement has a good connection but the main lab does not have a very good connection

    (3) CSUB Runner Cafeteria--pretty good throughout the cafeteria and some areas just outside the cafeteria. (4) There are a few other reported locations but they are not officially supported sites. The president is said to have wireless in his office so withen 100-300 foot may gat a connection

Other locations not at CSUB are available. We will work on getting togather a list of locations--Let us know if you find one by emailing jross@csub.edu.
