About CSUB Theatre

Theatrefest Guest Artist Program

Each year, the Theatre Department sponsors one or more guest artists to travel to our campus to interact with CSUB students, to inspire them, and to enhance their training. Visits may entail workshops, lectures or performances.

Examples of past guest artists:

• Carol Channing, world-renowned actress
• Cornerstone Theater Company, specializing in community-based theatre
• 11th Hour Ensemble, innovative performance ensemble
• Jason Sumabat, choreographer
• Diane Elliot, Body-Mind Centering practitioner
• David Barker, solo performance artist, stage movement expert (co-sponsored with Gender Matters Conference)
• John Lennox, fight director
• Janet Neipris, playwright, Chair- Dept. of Dramatic Writing, Tisch School of the Arts
• Colin McKay, playwright
