Electric Vehicles

We thank our electric vehicle drivers, who play an important role in improving air quality in the Central Valley.

CSU Bakersfield's Lot M (see campus map) includes 4 electric-vehicle (EV) charging stations. The EV charging station fee is $1.25 for the first 4 hours and $2.50 for each hour thereafter. These EV charging stations are conveniently located at the front of the parking lot, directly next to the Runner Cafe and Student Union. A valid parking permit is required. Reservations are not required.

Runner Ride Bike Share

The Runner Ride bike share is an examplary model of campus collaboration. Thank you to the Student Recreation Center, Associated Students, Inc., Business and Administrative Services, and the Office of the President. The program allows students, staff, and faculty free daily access to a fleet of 30 bicycles, reducing the University's carbon footprint and facilitating a healthy lifestyle. You do not need an SRC membership to use the bicycles, just check one out at the SRC front desk.

For more information, visit the Runner Ride webpage.

Bike Path

The University is taking steps to decrease vehicle traffic and air emissions on campus. In Fall 2011, the new East-West Bike Path debuted on campus, funded in part by a grant from the San Joaquin Valley Air Pollution Control District.
