Advancing the Science of Psychology

Psi Chi is an international honor society whose purpose shall be to encourage, stimulate, and maintain excellence in scholarship of the individual members in all fields, particularly in psychology, and to advance the science of psychology. The mission of Psi Chi is to produce a well-educated, ethical, and socially responsible member committed to contributing to the science and profession of psychology and to society in general.

The CSUB chapter promotes the purpose and mission of Psi Chi through workshops, our annual research conference, community service, tutoring, and social events. Our chapter works closely with the CSUB Psychology Department to promote psychological research, both basic and applied, and to support excellence in our psychology majors and minors.

The mission of Psi Chi is to produce a well-educated, ethical, and socially responsible member committed to contributing to the science and profession of psychology and to society in general.

Requirements for Membership

  • Be enrolled as a minor or major in Psychology
  • Completed 15 units (3 courses) in the field of Psychology
    • For CSUB students a Math 140 class will count as 5 units
    • Be a second quarter Sophomore
    • Have a minimum GPA of 3.0
