Learn something new about games!
Gamer Education Day, or GED, is a day when members of the game industry come to CSUB to share their insight into game creation and the industry.
Past speakers have included:
James Portnow: Game designer, industry spokesperson, adjunct professor at Digipen University
Leslie Redd: Former director of educational programming at Valve Corp.
Geoffrey Zatkin: President and COO of Electronic Entertainment Data and Research (EEDER)
Christopher Tin: Grammy winning composer for "Civilization IV"
Jack Wall: Composer for "Mass Effect", "Call of Duty: Black Ops 2", "Jade Empire", "Myst III" and "Myst IV" and others.
Susan O'Connor: Writer, Founder of the Game Writers Conference, writer on "Bioshock" and "Bioshock 2", "Gears of War" and more.
Carlos Ferro: Voice Actor, "Dom" in "Gears of War", Leonardo da Vinci in "Assassin's Creed II."
Jason Hayes: Composer for "World of Warcraft" and other Blizzard hits, co-founder of music group "Critical Hit".
Charles Martinet: 20+ year voice acting veteran best known as the voice of Nintendo's "Mario".
GED events include recaps of "Extra Life" events, including check presentations to the hospital, and musical performances by local singers and musicians, covering video game themes.
