The Department of Teacher Education at California State University, Bakersfield prepares highly qualified teachers and professionals to teach in the K-12 public schools and/or work with children and families in various educational settings. Throughout the program, candidates take a variety of research-based courses and engage in structured fieldwork activities. These learning opportunities are supported by qualified faculty, experienced university supervisors, and effective cooperating teachers.

Our department offers three programs at the undergraduate, post-baccalaureate, and graduate levels. Courses are offered at our two campuses: Bakersfield and Antelope Valley.
