Dr. McCleary received her doctorate from Tulane University in New Orleans. She currently teaches research, social welfare policy, HBSE, social work practice with older adults, and family treatment. Prior to teaching, she worked in various social work settings including inpatient psychiatric social work with children, dual diagnosis, addictive disorders, hospice, and home health care. She currently serves on the Kern County Mental Health Behavioral Health Board and is involved in several of the Board’s committees. She is a member of the University’s Institutional Review Board and serves on several Department committees. Her research interests include end of life issues, complementary and alternative medicine, and improving social work education.
