Professor Henry earned her Masters in Social Work degree in 1995 from the University of Kansas. Professor Henry served as the Director of a Victim/Offender Mediation Program and as an adjunct professor at the University of Kansas and half time Assistant Professor in Social Work at Kansas State University. Professor Henry has a wealth of experience in Child Welfare and Criminal and Juvenile Justice including employment at Kansas Children’s Service League where she supervised the Foster Care Unit and was instrumental in planning and implementing the privatization of Child Welfare Services for the agency. She also has experience in recruiting and training foster parents. As a supervisor in Foster Care, Professor Henry witnessed high turnover and low morale common for direct line workers and supervisors. Due to her experiences, Professor Henry continues to explore issues related to the education, support and retention of CWS Social Workers.
