Council on Social Work Education  CSWE is a nonprofit national association of social work professionals.  It is the only organization authorized to accredit social work education programs.  Site contains information on membership, CSWE events, as well as general information about the social work profession and steps to becoming a social worker.  The site is especially geared towards men and women either in a social work education program or thinking about going into one.


National Association of Social Workers  NASW is the largest association of social work professionals in the world.  The site provides information on further education in the social work field, important developments in research, and recent developments in policy that affect the profession.


National Association of Social Workers - California Chapter  This site provides information on social work relevant to California, especially pertaining to education opportunities and legislation.

  
California Board of Behavioral Sciences  The BBS regulates the activities of professionals in the behavioral sciences, including social workers.  The site provides information on different careers in the behavioral sciences field, licensing, and furthering education.

 
Service Employees International Union   Visit this site to join the SEIU.  The site contains information on union benefits and events, as well as articles pertaining to recent developments with legislature.  The site also contains important information on workers’ rights.

 
California Department of Social Services  The CDSS oversees the protection of needy children and adults in the state of California.  The site contains information on how to improve the lives of needy Californians, as well as information on employment opportunities with the CDSS.
