June 4, 2004 More Congratulations! Well the CSUB Student Research Competition has come and gone. Of our student researchers who participated, we had a few winners! Congratulations are in order for Nathan L. Miller - 1st place in the poster presentation and 1st place in the oral presentation (science) Alex R. Todd - 2nd place in the poster presentation and 2nd place in the oral presentation (science) Carol L. Register - 3rd place in the poster presentation Nathan and Alex will be presenting their research at the California Statewide Competition on May 1, 2004 at CSU Northridge. Good luck guys!!

Old News, but still worth mentioning Katy Vizzard and Bradley Marchand were winners at the Joint Mathematics Meeting in Phoenix, Arizona, undergraduate poster competition. They presented their research on classes of elliptical curves and received many accolades from several judges. and Congratulations are in order for those students who applied and were awarded participation in the 2003 - 2004 CSUB Student Research Scholars Program. Participants in this program receive up to $2500 over the year for completing research projects with their chosen mentors. This past year, 31 students submitted applications and only 12 were chosen as participants; of these, 5 were Project SMART Grad students. Help me in congratulating:
