The Research & Scholarship Summative Award was established by the School Academic Council of California State University, Bakersfield and the School of Education in order to recognize and encourage outstanding contributions to the principle and practice of research and creative activity for a period of three years. Faculty research and creative activity are critical to providing an educational experience of high quality and to the overall mission of the SOE. The outstanding research and scholarship contributions of a nominated faculty will be demonstrated by the following:

Nomination Process
The nomination process is simple: Send your nominations by April 15, 2009 to Dr. Jeff Moffit of the School of Education honors and awards committee c/o the Dean's office. The following rules apply:

Any full-time faculty member is eligible. Nominations may be submitted by administrators, faculty, or alumni. A nominee for the Research & Scholarship Summative Award is expected to have a record of excellence in research, scholarship, creative activity, and service to the campus and community for a period of at least three years. A significant part of each nominee's record of accomplishment shall have been established while a faculty member of the California State University.

The SOE Honors and Awards Committee will select a nominee and submit the nominee's name to the CSUB School Academic Council for approval.
