Small Business Development Center
California State University Bakersfield
Message from the CSUB SBDC Director, Kelly Bearden
The California State University, Bakersfield hosts our Small Business Development Center (SBDC) and is committed to assisting entrepreneurs and the small business community throughout Kern, Inyo and Mono County through our SBDC.
The 1,100 SBDCs throughout our nation are each powerful public-private partnerships that help not only new “start-ups” and very small firms but also have resources available to assist larger (mid-tier) firms with 10 to 50 employees – or larger.
SBDC consultants work with entrepreneurs in confidential, one- on-one sessions to help them with a range of business issues. These range from drafting business plans and loan applications to more specific counsel in areas such as marketing, human resources, tax planning, government contracting, international trade, risk management, and patent or copyright protection.
SBDC workshops and other educational programs inform and assist entrepreneurs with program topics that range from HR compliance to intellectual property protection to electronic marketing systems – and all that’s in between.
Go to the link on this website that says, “Request Small Business Assistance Today” and then click on “Kern” so you can register with us for service. Remember, our consulting services may be free, yet they represent a major value to any business owner who wants to take his/her organization to its next level of excellence!
