Stolen campaign signs causing a stir

By Michelle Haro

ASI elections have gotten off to a foul start, considering that many of the ASI candidates have gotten their signs and posters stolen from around campus by opposing candidates. This has been a tradition carried out by those candidates who have desperate intentions for finding any way possible not to lose. On average, ASI candidates spend over $100 just to get you to notice their name. Hours are spent painting and printing, and no one is happy when their creations are stolen. Also, stealing might not be a quality you want your ASI representative to have. My point is that before you vote, really listen to what the candidates have to say before you help someone into office that may have partaken in dirty politics.

Recently we have had complaints from a few disabled students on campus regarding the lack of proper educational tools, especially in the library. I have set up a meeting with Janice Clausen, the Disability Services coordinator, to discuss the matter further. If the students are justified, then ASI will do everything possible to make sure these students get their equipment.

Alas, ASI elections are this Wednesday and Thursday, May 1 and 2. The polls will be on the cemented area between Dorothy Donahoe Hall and Runner Café from 7:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. The Antelope Valley campus has voting booths as well, so every student has the opportunity to vote. Good luck to all candidates!
