Happy New Year fellow roadrunners! Over the winter break, ASI has been working on a variety of issues and events. As VP of External Affairs, I have been getting additional discounts from many Bakersfield businesses. As a new incentive for these businesses, they will be receiving a CSUB discount sticker that can be placed on their entranceway windows. Also, once all of the businesses that wish to give discounts have been inputted, I will be creating discount info sheets that are the size of business cards so that you can have a constant reminder in your wallets.
Oh, and ATTENTION TO ALL OF THE FEMALES ON CAMPUS! The feminine product dispensers in the rest rooms may be extinct by the end of this quarter. Due to several vandalizing occasions, CSUB may no longer provide this service. Randy Bye, our Foundation Manager, believes that the feminine product dispensers should no longer be something CSUB puts effort into, and would like to know if ASI can take over the service. To be honest, ASI was created in order to provide a voice on behalf of the students regarding important issues, not to provide janitorial service that CSUB no longer wants to deal with. For the time being, Health Services as well as the ASI Office will provide such products for a small fee. If you think that CSUB should perhaps pay a little more attention to the majority of the campus, which is in fact female, please call Randy Bye at 664-2252 (or email at rbye@csub.edu) and voice your opinion.
On a softer note, ASIs programming committee has been putting together our annual Homecoming Ball. The theme this year is A Night of Magic, and it will be located at last years location The Bayou. The Ball is set for February 23rd, so be on the lookout for Homecoming King and Queen nomination forms, and start saving some cash for a night of formal fun!
