Porterville College
The Child, Adolescent, and Family Studies
(CAFS) degree is accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC). Students will take three to four courses per quarter and will complete all of the coursework required for the CAFS degree, a minor in Children’s Literature, and all Upper Division General Education requirements. Classes will be delivered online and face to face at the Porterville College campus.
The CAFS degree is designed for students who are interested in careers working first hand with children and families. Individuals who have earned a CAFS degree are prepared to work with children and families in areas such as case management, criminal justice, Head Start, and the Department of Human Services and have developed the skills necessary for occupations that focus on children and families such as preschool teachers, administrators, social workers, counselors, advocates, and readiness coordinators.
