SANTA CLARITA PROGRAMS

Multiple Subject Teaching Credential

The Multiple-Subject program is cohort based.  Admission to the program is during the Summer and Fall quarters only.  Program prerequisites and the application requirements must be completed before candidates will be admitted to the credential program and are able to enroll in credential coursework. Program completion takes three consecutive quarters, and is divided into three Stages. For candidates admitted for the Summer Cohort, program completion will be Winter quarter. For candidates admitted for the Fall Cohort, program completion will be Spring quarter.  Both cohorts will finish in time to be eligible to apply to the school districts of the candidate’s choice for employment the following school year.

Admission to either the Summer of Fall Cohort allows the candidates guaranteed enrollment in all credential classes offered for their cohort. Our program is designed to accommodate the needs of full-time working candidates through Stage I.  Evening and weekend courses are offered throughout the program. Courses are face-to-face and require full attendance to successfully complete the program. Students may be required to visit an elementary school classroom at times during Stage I.  When candidates advance to Stage II and Stage III, they will be placed in an elementary classroom during the full school day, Monday through Friday.
