Master of Arts in Education
Reading/Literacy Program Information

This program leads to a Master of Arts degree in Education with requirements for the Reading Certificate and Reading/Language Arts Specialist Credential embedded in the sequence of coursework. Competencies emphasized in this program prepare the candidate for professional work and leadership in the field of literacy in grades K-12.

The concentration in Reading/Literacy is available for postbaccalaureate students who have an interest in further refinement of their professional skills and knowledge in the areas of reading and language arts at the elementary or secondary level. Work towards the MA degree is closely articulated with the Reading/Language Arts Specialist Credential as designed by standards of the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CCTC)
