ERM Program Requirements
To complete a major in English with a Credential Emphasis, students will take a combination of core and program area courses, as well as completing the Senior Seminar and all upper division General Education requirements.
Lower Division General Education
Students complete the equivalent of two years of lower division coursework at a community college prior to applying for admission to CSUB. Transfer courses will include all lower division general eduation requirements. It is recommended that all lower division general education and lower division major requirements be completed prior to admission to ensure a timely completion of the program.
2 years of High School foreign language or 1 semester of College level foreign language is required for graduation. CSUB will not deliver foreign language classes. If the requirement was not met in High School, students will fulfill the requirement at a community college.

Concentration to be approved by the Academic Coordinator:
The concentration is comprised of a minimum of 17 quarter units and is transferred into the program from other institutions. The concentration further enhances the student experience and gives students an opportunity to specialize in select areas. previous concentrations have included Forestry, Environment, and Health.
