BS Environmental Resource Management
Environmental Resource Management is an interdisciplinary major that includes coursework in the areas of physical and life sciences related to natural resource use, the legal aspects of resource ownership and use, and the economic and political aspects of resource allocation and environmental protection. The program also includes basic skills courses in areas such as communications, computers, statistics, and management.
The ERM major is of sufficient breadth to prepare graduates for entry into a wide range of careers relating to the use, management, and protection of environmental assets. These careers are in areas such as resource analysis and planning, environmental health, compliance, technical and environmental staff support, permitting, and real estate development
The online ERM program is fully accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) and articulates with community college Environmental Technology programs developed under the Partnership for Environmental Technology Education (PETE) umbrella. Students who have 60 lower-division semester units can complete the degree on-line through Web-based courses.
This transfer program is designed to allow students to complete two years of environmental technology and lower division general education requirements at a community college. Students can transfer these units into CSUB and complete the remainder of the degree requirements online. Students may transfer up to 1 year of upper division course work taken from an accredited four-year college or university.
For students who are active or retired military, military training may be applied depending on the guidelines set forth within the SOC/ACE catalog. CSUB is a SOC institution, and it is recommended that you submit your ACE Registry transcript and/or your DD214 when requesting an unofficial outline concentration and when you have actually been admitted into the program
It is understood that students who register for on-line courses have developed a set of computer skills that includes; an understanding of the internet, converting and attaching files, as well as file compression and extraction. In addition, students should know their home workstation configuration and platform.
