Curriculum & Instruction
Program Information

The Curriculum and Instruction Program is intended for educators and those interested in education who are seeking to enhance their skills and understanding of curriculum development, implementation, and assessment. While most candidates for the MA degree are K-12 teachers, the program can be beneficial for professional development specialists, community college instructors, coaches, and others.

Within the C&I program, there are five core courses (16 units) plus the Culminating Activity (5 units).  Additionally, students choose from a range of electives that include courses from the BTSA Field Based emphasis and the Educational Technology emphasis. Courses are taught both face to face at the University Center on the COC campus and online through WebCt.

Academic advisors will be available on a quarterly basis to ensure that program files are complete and that students are taking the appropriate coursework for completion of the degree.

Students interested in applying or registering for courses should attend an Information Meeting at the University Center of the COC campus.
