Provost and VP for Academic Affairs Jenny J. Zorn
Dr. Jenny Zorn served as an Interim Provost at Humboldt State University and Associate Provost for Academic and International Programs at CSU San Bernardino (CSUSB) prior to coming to CSUB. She earned a PhD in Geography from The Ohio State University and her research has focused on women in the labor force, geographic education, and international education.
As Interim Provost, she directs the Academic Affairs budget and co-chairs the University Budget Committee for the university’s $125 million budget. She has extensive experience in growing campus academic programs, building the physical infrastructure of a campus in the CSU, the WASC reaccreditation process, and strategic planning having served on three strategic planning councils, co-chairing one.
At the cornerstone of her career has been her work on diversity and inclusion. She is respected in her discipline for her work on gender diversity issues and currently serves on the Association of American Geographers Committee on Diversity. She is a leader on campus in areas of diversity such as conceptualizing and implementing a Women Who Lead program, developing a premier program of student participation in the Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities (HACU) conference, and substantially increasing international programs. She has been a champion for veterans’ initiatives and the Accessible Technology Initiative for students with disabilities. She received the Distinguished Teaching Award from the National Council on Geographic Education and other outstanding teaching and service awards. Active in her community, she has served in numerous leadership roles in philanthropic organizations.
