Areas: history of philosophy, especially 19th century philosophy, political philosophy, 20th century continental philosophy, feminist theory, postcolonial theory.

Bio: Senem Saner received a Bachelor’s degree in Physics from Bogazici University (Istanbul, Turkey). After taking her first elective, "Philosophy of Science," she became duly corrupted by philosophy. Her studies have taken her to Purdue University, Stony Brook, and Wuppertal (Germany), studying the history of philosophy and Hegel, and finally to CSU Bakersfield as full-time lecturer. She is interested in systematic philosophy – the relationship between metaphysics and political philosophy. Her library’s core texts are Plato’s "Republic" and Hegel’s "Science of Logic" – you are bound to hear about the first if you take her classes, and the second if you spend any time talking to her.
