These are sample schedules for the Music major. They are intended to assist in planning the sequence of coursework for the major. Individual students may complete these requirements with modifications to major courses, general education, and other degree requirements. It is not intended to reflect the availability of courses, but instead, to demonstrate the feasibility of completing the B.A. in Music by a full-time student in a standard four-year schedule or part-time in five or six-year schedules. Some courses have pre-requisites. All of the required 200, 300 and 400 level courses are offered at least once every two years. Some other elective music courses are also offered in a two-year sequence. Each student should consult the class schedule for an accurate listing of course offerings and the college catalog for a course description. Links to these documents and a tentative schedule of course offerings for the current year should be found on the Music Department Home Page. All students should plan their schedule around the major required courses and begin their Music Theory coursework as early as possible in their program of study. In addition, assessment of piano skills and placement in our Piano Class course sequence should be done as soon as a student decides to pursue a degree in music.
