HOW TO APPLY FOR ONLINE PROGRAMS
The Application for Admission available online (in .PDF form) by clicking here. You can print and fill out the form for submission or just call Regional Programs and we'll be happy to mail you one. If you experience any problems completing the application, email Kristie Luna at kluna2@csub.edu
Before mailing your Application for Admission to Special Sessions, please confirm completion of the following points:
Transfer from Regional Programs to On-Campus Attendance
If you decide to finish your program on the main campus or at the Antelope Valley branch, and want your application transferred to regular admission to take advantage of the reduced fee structure, let the Regional Programs office know well in advance of your expected transfer. Normally, there is no cost to transfer the application, and your Regional Programs file will simply be transferred to the main campus records.
Admission to Degree or Credential Programs
If you have already submitted a CSU Application for Admission but intend to take courses only at one of the Regional Programs sites, contact the Regional Programs Office to transfer your application.
If you have applied but have not heard whether you've been accepted, it's probably because one or more of your transcripts has not been received. Remember, send all necessary paperwork to the Regional Programs Office.
If you sent transcripts for evaluation but failed to submit an application, it's possible that the transcripts were purged. Or, if you sent your transcripts directly to CSUB Admissions, the transcripts may also have been purged. Next time, send them to Regional Programs.
Students with transcripts from colleges outside the U.S. are reminded that in order to have them evaluated, the student must request Detailed Evaluation from the Educational Records Evaluation Service in Sacramento (916) 449-9570.
Students who completed the degree requirements of the program for which they originally applied and graduated are required to submit the Application for Admission/Readmission to Special Sessions if they intend to continue their studies for a subsequent degree or credential.
All new and readmitted students born after January 1, 1957 may be required to submit proof of measles and rubella immunizations. Proof of measles and rubella immunizations is also required for certain groups of students (i.e., Liberal Studies) who have increased exposure to these diseases.
Undergraduate Admission
A student will qualify for admission as an undergraduate transfer student if the student has a grade point average of 2.0 (C) or better in all transferable units attempted, is in good standing at the last college or university attended, and completed at least 84 transferable quarter (56 semester) units. Once admitted through Regional Programs, you must submit a Declaration of Major Form and meet with the Academic Coordinator to complete a program outline.
To qualify for admission as a transfer student, you must also have completed at least 30 semester units of college coursework with a grade of "C" or better in each course required for general education. These units must include the general education requirements in communication in the English language and critical thinking (at least 9 semester units) and the requirement in mathematics/quantitative reasoning (usually 3 semester units), or the Inter-segmental General Education Transfer Curriculum (IGETC) requirements in English communication and mathematical concepts and quantitative reasoning.
Graduate Admission
Admission to Regional Programs or the University as a post-baccalaureate student does not constitute admission to a specific graduate degree program. Graduate and post-baccalaureate applicants must also apply for a degree or a credential objective. Minimum grade point averages for admission vary by school and program. Each graduate program establishes its own specific requirements and standards. All graduate transfer credit is evaluated by the respective department and students admitted do not receive a formal evaluation. Instead, a program outline is completed during an advising session that identifies the course requirements for degree or credential completion. Depending on your degree or credential program and educational objective, you will be considered for admission in one of the following:
If you are planning to receive financial aid during your graduate studies, your award cannot be disbursed until you have been officially "classified" by the appropriate graduate program.
Any Master's degree program may not contain units over seven (7) years old.
