RN to BSN Completion Program Selection Criteria
Primary Points (55 Points Possible)
The RN to BSN Completion Program does not maintain a waiting list from one class to the next. Applicants that are not accepted must reapply the following year. Applicants are ranked using the primary points earned based on their GPA in the last 60 semester/90 quarter units of coursework (at least 2.5 GPA must be earned), the completion of the general education requirements, and prerequisites. Additional points will be added for proof of the following: Associate Degree in Nursing, California RN license, and California (Kern/Tulare/Antelope Valley). The maximum primary points earned are as follows:

California Resident: 5 points
(Five points earned if California resident)
Bakersfield Service Area: 5 points
(Five points earned if CSUB AV student or Kern, Tulare, Kings County resident)
Secondary Points
The following secondary points are only used in cases where two applicants' point totals are equal and a decision regarding acceptance must be made between the two candidates:
Volunteer Work Experience: 3 points
