Applying to the Fall 2019 RN-BSN program is a two-step process!

Step 1: Apply to CSUB (October 1, 2018- November 30, 2018)

Step 2: Program Application (October 1, 2018 - March 6, 2019)

Note: on NursingCAS search:

  • School: California State University-Bakersfield
  • Program: Select "RN to BSN"

Official transcripts, official test scores (AP, IB if applicable), and other university requirements must be submitted and received in the Office of Admissions and Records in order for your university application to be reviewed and processed. For details, please visit Application Process for Transfer Students.

  • Additional Documents: RN license (if applicable), CPR, a personal statement, & resume will be uploaded to the application under the "Documents" section.
  • Application Evaluation Fee: A $30 nursing application evaluation fee is required and must be mailed directly to the CSUB Department of Nursing (see mailing address).

The Evaluation Process
Throughout the application evaluation process, applicants can expect:

  • RN to BSN Application Review: A thorough RN to BSN program evaluation based on information provided in the application. The evaluations made will be based on an applicants eligibility for the program and the Primary Points system. Admission to the nursing program is made by the Department of Nursing in April/May 2018.
  • CSUB Admission Application Review: Applications to the university are reviewed by the Evaluations Office at the University (not Nursing). Admission to the university is made by the Admissions and Evaluations Office. Acceptance to the university does not guarantee acceptance to the nursing program. 
  • Communication: The Department of Nursing to maintain communication related to the BSN application through the email provided on the nursing application. Please check your email often for updates.
