Student Advisement

Individual Advising Appointments (For Current CSUB Students)

Current CSUB pre-nursing students are encouraged to meet with the pre-nursing advisor at least once a semester to determine general education, prerequisite, and cognate course completion and BSN program eligibility to apply. Students currently attending CSUB may schedule an advising appointment through the front office of the Department of Nursing located in the Romberg Nursing Center. Registration for continuing students for the subsequent semester will be restricted if there are any existing advising holds or other holds on student's accounts. Advising may take in the form of individual appointments or group advising during the regular advising period. If you are seeking a change of major to Nursing, you may request an advising appointment.

Walk-In Advising (For Current CSUB Pre-Nursing)

Beginning September 3, 2018, walk-in advising is also available but services are limited. To see a schedule of walk-in hours and services available please click here. You must be a current pre-nursing student to be seen as a "walk-in".

Nursing Department Monthly Information Sessions (Non-CSUB students)

During the application period and program evaluation processing, individualized appointments are reserved for current CSUB students only. CSUB Department of Nursing holds monthly information sessions for non-CSUB students. These sessions are intended for transfer students or anyone interested in finding out more about the nursing traditional 3-year nursing program offered at CSUB. We request that those not currently attending CSUB attend an information session prior to scheduling an individual advising appointment. Information Session details, dates, and RSVP instructions can be found in the Prospective Applicants area of this website. When appointments can be accommodated for non -CSUB individuals, it is advised to bring transcripts of college coursework from all colleges/universities attended to advising appointments.

Attention: Students who are a Registered Nurse with an Associates Degree in Nursing and would like to pursue a BSN should view materials for the RN-BSN program.
