Inaugural CSUB Nursing Health Fair

The Nursing Department at California State University, Bakersfield (CSUB) invites the entire community to learn more about healthy living at its first annual CSUB Nursing Health Fair. The event will provide the community with an opportunity to learn more about healthy food choices and promote activities that support the well-being of individuals.  A food booth will be available from Jamba Juice, and CSUB’s Associated Students, Inc. will provide healthy snacks.

The event will take place at 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on May 11th on the Red Brick Road at CSUB and is free and open to the public. Free parking will be available in Lots A, B and C.

Adults interested in learning about health and nutrition are particularly encouraged to attend. Information and educational resources will be provided by the University’s Student Health Center, Department of Social Work and Occupational Safety and Health Club. Seventeen other on-campus groups will be available to provide information about health related topics. Nursing advisors will also be present to share program information with the public.

Health and nutrition focused events will include:

  • A Zumba demonstration
  • Free health screenings (blood pressure, glucose and cholesterol testing) for adults
  • Body composition measurements provided by the PEAK department
