CSUB Human Resource Management Curriculum Gets National Recognition

CSU Bakersfield School of Business and Public Administration (BPA) is proud to announce that the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) has acknowledged that the Concentration in Human Resource Management (under the Bachelor of Business Administration degree) fully aligns with SHRM’s HR Curriculum Guidebook and Templates.

Throughout the world, 361 programs in 264 educational institutions have been acknowledged by SHRM as being in alignment with its suggested guides and templates. CSUB is now included as one of these professional programs.

The HR Curriculum Guidebook and Templates were developed by SHRM to define the minimum HR content areas that should be studied by HR students at the undergraduate and graduate levels. The guidelines -- created in 2006 and revalidated in 2010 and 2013 -- are part of SHRM’s Academic Initiative to define HR education standards taught in university business schools and help universities develop degree programs that follow these standards.

The goal of the SHRM HR Curriculum Guidebook and Templates is to provide colleges and universities a resource for tracking HR curricula against a common minimum skill set needed by employers seeking HR professionals.

SHRM is the educational leader for HR and the initiative of the HR Guidebook and Templates highlights the educational requirements for a career in HR; raises the bar for HR degree content and delivery; and demonstrates that HR is a profession with specific educational requirements.
