CSUB Announces Promotion within School of Business and Public Administration
November 09, 2012It was announced today that CSU Bakersfield has promoted Dr. John B. Stark, Associate Professor of Management to Associate Dean of the School of Business & Public Administration effective September 4, 2012.
Dr. Stark has been at California State University, Bakersfield for 13 years. He has served in various campus leadership positions, including Chair of Department of Management & Marketing within the School of Business & Public Administration and as Chair of the Academic Senate. In the fall of 2000, Stark returned to academia after sixteen years of practical experience in small and medium-sized organizations, in both the private and public sectors.
After receiving his PhD in Business Administration from the University of Missouri at Columbia, his primary areas of instruction have been organizational behavior, small business management, and managerial skills, teaching in both the undergraduate and masters programs. His research is in the development of trust and in conflict resolution. Stark is also a consultant for area businesses in strategic planning and the development of managerial skills.

"He brings considerable experience, both in the private sector and as an accomplished educator, coupled with a keen business acumen, that our faculty and students alike find worthy of admiration and the utmost respect."
The CSUB School of Business and Public Administration provides educational programs - complemented by applied research and instructional development - to serve a diverse student body. They prepare graduates to make knowledge-based decisions to address challenging issues facing organizational leaders in our region.
