CSU Bakersfield-Antelope Valley to begin offering AACSB Accredited MBA program this spring
January 24, 2012
Preparing for a career in business requires choosing the best business school — one with top faculty, impactful research, driven students, and the highest standards of quality. Beginning April 6, business students in Antelope Valley will have access to such a program, as CSU Bakersfield’s Antelope Valley Center will begin offering the institution’s Masters of Business Administration (MBA) during the spring quarter.
“One of the most requested programs from CSUB-AV has been the MBA,” said Mike Bedell, director of CSUB’s MBA program. “We are responding to the needs of the Lancaster-Palmdale area by providing a high quality MBA program that will help facilitate the success of AV organizations by developing highly skilled business professionals.”
The MBA program at CSUB-AV was designed with the working professional in mind, with classes meeting on Friday evenings and Saturday mornings. The program can be completed in about 21 months, Bedell noted, and tuition is highly competitive at less than $25,000 for the entire program.
“CSUB has long been recognized as a top business school in our region. We are accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB), a distinction held by only 5 percent of business schools nationwide,” said Bedell. “AACSB-accredited schools are recognized worldwide by top employers and their grads have access to recruiters and often earn higher salaries.”
Courses for the 10-week spring quarter include Management 604 (Fridays from 5:30 p.m. to 9:10 p.m.) and Accounting 600 (Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 12:40 p.m.)
To be eligible for admission, candidates must have a baccalaureate degree from an accredited four-year university with at least a 2.75 overall GPA and a minimum GMAT score of 500 or a comparable GRE score. Candidates may also qualify for admission via the executive track if they have 7.5 years of executive/management level work experience and/or hold a national certification (e.g., CPA, CPCU, SPHR, CLU, CFA).
Registration is now open. Those interested should apply at www.csumentor.edu. For more information, email firstname.lastname@example.org or call the CSUB MBA office at 661-654-2780 or Cindy Breor at CSUB-AV at 661-952-5026.
