The Humanities / Behavioral Science 277 / 477 courses are designed to help students with critical thinking, grammar, and rhetoric necessary for analytical reading and persuasive, logical, and effective writing in any lower- or upper-division course. Students will take an online diagnostic test and complete a personalized lesson plan including items in grammar, mechanics, and writing. Students will also have the option of submitting papers online and get detailed feedback. 277/477 is designed to work with preexisting assignments from the student’s course, and 277/477 will not assign additional work. Students must complete 17 hours of lab. 277 is open to freshmen and sophomores, and 477 is open to juniors and seniors. This is a one-unit course and is credit / no credit. Students can either sign up for the class of their own volition, or a faculty member may recommend students for this course.
