MyWritingLabPlus is currently used in all English composition courses, including English 80 and 99. Below are the course standards and topics for each.

ENGLISH 80 MYWRITINGLABPLUS INSTRUCTIONS

You are responsible for completing 10 MyWritingLabPlus topics in conjunction with your English 80 class.  This requirement is worth 10% of your overall English 80 grade.  To receive full credit, you must (1) take the pre- and post-diagnostics (Sentence Grammar and Basic Grammar) and (2) master approximately one of the below assigned topics per week, for a total of 10 topics by the end of the quarter.  To master a topic, you must earn a score of 80% or higher on both the Recall and Apply sections for each of the following topics.

Note that topics mastered through the pre-diagnostic will not count towards your 10 topics. You must master the below 10 assigned topics through the Recall and Apply sections.

Essay Introductions, Conclusions, and Titles
Parts of Speech, Phrases and Clauses
Fragments
Run-On Sentences
Verb Tense
Subject-Verb Agreement
Pronoun Antecedent Agreement
Misplaced or Dangling Modifiers
Standard and Non-Standard English
Easily Confused Words

You will be held responsible for these new skills every week in your writing.  Since this is an online workshop, you can work on these topics outside of class at your convenience, so long as you master approximately one topic per week, for a total of ten topics.  This means that if you wait until the end of the quarter to complete all ten topics, you will not receive full credit and your essay grades may suffer.
