Your voicemail allows people to leave you messages, when you are on your phone or away from your desk.  Most phones have an associated voicemail box.  For more information about the voicemail system, see the Useful Links or the Frequently Asked Questions.

How do I setup my voicemail?

The voicemail system will guide you through this process automatically. The setup process assists you in creating a security code, recording your name, and recording your outgoing message. If the voicemail system does not guide you in this process, you can follow these instructions to do so. From your office phone, press the VM button.


How do I access my voicemail from home or other locations?

  1. Dial 654-3300.
  2. When you hear the chimes, press the # (pound key) immediately
  3. When the system prompts you, enter your mail box number.
  4. Enter your security code.
  5. The voicemail system will walk you through the options.


How do I access my voicemail from another phone on campus?

  1. To access your voicemail from on-campus, simply dial 3300. 
  2. When the system asks for the security code, press * (star key) then # (pound key)
  3. When the system prompts you, enter your mailbox number
  4. Enter your security code, when prompted
  5. The voicemail system will walk you through the options.


How do I change my password or security code?

  1. To begin, access your voicemail,
  2. Enter your security code
  3. Press 3 to access the Phone Manager. (Note: The system will not tell you to Press 3 for the Phone Manager.)
  4. Press 1 to access the Personal Options Menu in Phone Manager
  5. Press 4 to change your security code.
  6. When prompted, enter a new numeric security code followed by a # sign.

Note:
Your security code can be any length. It must be at least 2 digits and no more than 15 digits. Try to avoid using simple combinations, such as your mailbox number or "1234."

  1. Listen to the prompt and repeat the security code that you just entered.
  2. If your security code is correct, press 1. If it is incorrect, press 9 and re-enter a new security code.


How do I record my name or change my name?

  1. To begin, access your voicemail box and enter your security code.
  2. Press 3 to access the Phone Manager
  3. Press 5 at the Personal Options menu to record your name.
  4. When recording your name, don't include an introduction such as "Hello, this is..."
  5. Press 2 to begin recording. Press 2 again to stop recording.
  6. After recording your name, you can:
    1. Press 6 to review your name.
    2. Press 4 to discard your name and start over.
    3. Press * to cancel and exit to the Personal Options menu, without saving the recording.
  7. When you are satisfied with the recording, press 5 to save it.


How do I record a greeting?

  1. To begin, access your voicemail box and enter your security code
  2. Press 3 for the Phone Manager
  3. Press 3 for the Personal Options menu
  4. Press 2 to record a personal greeting
  5. Press 2 to begin recording.
  6. Press 2 again to stop recording.
  7. After recording your message, you can:
    1. Press 6 to review your name.
    2. Press 4 to discard your name and start over.
    3. Press * to cancel and exit to the Personal Options menu, without saving the recording.
  8. When you are satisfied with the recording, press 5 to save it.
  9. Press * to leave Phone Manager
  10. You can exit the system at this time.


How do I cancel a feature or exit voicemail?

Cancel feature

To cancel the current feature, press the * key. When you press the * key, voice mail stops what it's currently doing and plays the previous voice menu options. The * key enables you to move quickly from one function to another.

Exit Voicemail

To exit voice mail, press the * key enough times until you hear the prompt that states "Thank you for calling." This will free the line more quickly for the next person.
