Web Scanning Procedures

IT Services monitors the sites that fail and when a site fails for two weeks in a row the owner and web master are notified that their site is in jeopardy of being redirected. If a site fails for a third consecutive week it can be redirected. A redirected web site is unavailable for viewing by anyone. All traffic that would normally go to any page within the redirected web site is instead sent to a page explaining that the site is unavailable due to Section 508 non-compliance. A web site that has been redirected will remain so until all errors have been repaired. When a web master has repaired all outstanding issues the site can be returned to normal operation after IT Services has verified the site passes automated verification.

IT Services offers training in the creation of Section 508 compliant web pages as well as how to repair errors that are reported by Compliance Sheriff.
