If you are currently seeking education in the US, please check with the following requirements to decide if you are qualified. English proficiency requirements: CSUB requires that all applicants demonstrate satisfactory proficiency in English. All applicants who have not attended secondary or postsecondary educational institutions where English is the principle language of instruction for at least three consecutive years of full-time must submit a report of test score. We accept TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) and IELTS (International English Language Testing System). The test score must be obtained within two years prior to application to CSUB. It is
required that
a
statement from the bank of the person sponsoring your education shows that the
student has $24,000.00 available for one year of study. It can be from
the applicant, the applicant's parents, or from another sponsor.
Second
Bachelor’s requirement
Students
applying as a second bachelor’s student are held to graduate
requirements.
Green Card
Policy
Students are
eligible for resident tuition 1 year after the Green Card was
issued.
Graduate application
Requirements
The
minimum requirements for admission to graduate and post baccalaureate studies at
a California State University campus are in accordance with university
regulations as well as Title 5, chapter 1, subchapter 3 of the California Code
of Regulations. Specifically, a student shall:
(1) have completed a four-year college course of study and hold an acceptable baccalaureate degree from an institution accredited by a regional accrediting association, or shall have completed equivalent academic preparation as determined by appropriate campus authorities;
(2) be in good academic standing at the last college or university attended;
(3) have attained a grade point average of at least 2.5 (A=4.0) in the last 60 semester (90 quarter) units attempted;
(5) satisfactorily meet the professional, personal, scholastic, and other standards for graduate study, including qualifying examinations, as appropriate campus authorities may prescribe.
In unusual circumstances, a campus may make exceptions to these criteria.
To assist students with immigration deadlines and requirements, CSUB uses separate applications and filing dates in the admission of foreign students. Graduate applicants are required to apply to the intended department while applying for CSUB at the same time.
