Interdisciplinary Programs at CSUB

In addition to our many outstanding academic departments and degrees, CSU Bakersfield also offers a number of Interdisciplinary programs. These programs allow students in different majors to focus their studies on specific ethnic or cultural groups, or to combine elements of distinct disciplines in a unique way. Students may choose a concentration or minor in one of these special programs.

CSUB also offers a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Interdisciplinary Studies. This permits a student who wants to pursue a field of study not covered by one of the University's departments to propose a program of correlated studies in two or more fields. A student who transfers with a large number of upper division units in a degree program not offered at the University can find this alternative particularly useful.

We currently offer areas of specialization in Women's Gender and Sexuality Studies, Ethnic Studies, and Film Studies.
