The 2008-09 Alumni Association Board of Directors is already hard at work planning opportunities to connect alumni, students and friends of the university in support of CSUB and each other. Under the leadership of Mike Russo, the board looks forward to increasing membership and volunteer base for university activities.

The volunteer board helps to promote a sense of pride, excitement and loyalty for the university. New to the board this year are members Jennifer Blackwood, Christine Goedhart-Humphrey, Doug Greener, Adam Hopkins and David Perkins. The association heartily thanks retiring board members Renee Kinzel and Janet Millar for their many years of dedication.

For years alumni and supporters have assisted CSUB through a variety of advocacy efforts, including traveling to Sacramento to visit legislators at the annual CSU Legislative Day (pictured above).

Making your voice heard just got easier through a new program known as e-advocacy. This e-mail-based communication will allow university officials to easily reach out to alumni, community members and friends in an effort to expand the circle of supporters.

E-advocacy is designed to be another effective tool for those who want to support CSUB. Through e-advocacy you can:

  • Make a difference in the quality of higher education
  • each your elected officials and promote positive legislation for higher education
  • oice your opinion and tell us what's important to you
  • eceive updates on the latest issues impacting CSUB and all CSU students

You can join e-advocacy online through the “budget central” link at www.csub.edu.
