Desktop Security Audits

Information Technology Services Support will perform security audits upon request. Please call x2307 to arrange a security audit for your area.

The security audit will include a checklist review of the following types of items.

  • The kind of data being stored and/or accessed (shared files) on workstations or servers and the appropriate safeguards that should be in place, including patch management, virus protection, and Active Directory status.
  • The use of appropriate logins, passwords, desktop firewalls, and screensavers.
  • Storage of confidential paper files and use of shredders, including storage on media such as floppies, Zip discs, flash memory sticks, CD ROMS, etc.
