Then the Intensive English Language Center at CSUB is the place for you!

If you are a High School graduate with two years of English language study, then you are eligible to apply for the program. You will be required to take a placement test before beginning your studies at IELC. Results of the test determine your level of knowledge, and will tell us what classes you should be in. New classes start four times a year, with 23 hours of instruction per week. Computer programs are available to develop and reinforce your individual progress in American English.

Admission to the IELC program does not guarantee regular admission to the University or its courses and programs. Information regarding regular admission upon completion of the IELC requirements can be obtained on the California State University, Bakersfield web site.
