Student Housing & Residence Life
What Residents have to say
About Staying with Us
Still undecided as to whether or not campus housing at CSUB is right for you? Read what our residents have to say. Hopefully this will help you to decide.
"The things I enjoy most about living on campus is that I was able to get the full experience that most people were telling me about. Some of the benefits are that it is easier to go to class because you don’t have to worry about a ride. There is always someone around to help. Also, you get priority in knowing about campus events and registering for classes.
For students who never lived on campus before, I would tell them to at least try it for their first year and if they don’t like it then they can move off campus with a group of established friends they met here that first year. The bonding experience is something to try because friendships are certainly made your first year. It is also easier to get to study labs and the library."
Ashari Wallace, Resident, Office Asst. and Resident Assistant
"I like it that it is convenient for me to get class in a timely fashion. Living on campus helps me to develop my interpersonal skills. It also gives a level of independence and responsibility factors that I would not receive if I was to stay at home."
Yienessa Warren, Resident, Office Asst., and Resident Assistant
"It is very convenient to wake up and go straight to class. The relationship you developed with the community is an experience like none other. Living in the dorms is something a college student should experience."
Angelo Lapuz, Resident Assistant
"I regret moving out of the dorms. Living on your own is not what you expect. You think about rent + utilities,
well think about your furniture. I would love to move back into the dorms ASAP."
